Tomorrow is a day to miss my mother. I think of her often but Mother's Day makes me remember her special motherly talents. She had a way about her like a mother hen gathering all her chicks for a feast she cook in the same way she gathered us together when we needed her to understand, listen and take care of us. Holidays were special to her. She would decorate and cook, preparing for all of us to come home. The table would be full of food for lunch and we'd have enough left overs for supper. Mom had a talent for baking dinner rolls that we called buns. She made the best angel food cakes for our birthdays and candies for Christmas. Always there was extra cake or candy for all of us to take home. Not only was she a good cook but she was kind hearted when she saw someone in need. There was always room for one more at her table. Her garden always produced enough to send home fresh vegetables with people who didn't have a garden. Though it wasn't something she said often, we all felt her love and miss her being with us.
